Compadre Guacamole is a passion project that reflects the intersection of my love for food, my Mexican heritage, and my skills as a graphic designer.

Created as a concept for a modern Mexican restaurant, this project allowed me to deepen my expertise in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop while exploring a visual identity that blends rustic modern aesthetics with traditional cultural motifs.

Compadre Guacamole

Brand Identity

The creative direction was inspired by the vibrant patterns and colors of Mexican Talavera tiles, vintage street signage, and authentic culinary traditions.

Brand Identity & Design Details

The combination logo for Compadre Guacamole is comprised of a logomark and custom wordmark. The logomark is characterized by both symmetry, as seen in Talavera tile work, and modern design. Through the use of negative space it depicts an avocado and a molcajete (stone tool used to grind food). The letters "O", "A", and "E" hint to the typographic style found in antique street signs from Morelia, Mexico's Historic Center. This bold wordmark consists of straight and curved edges that encapsulate the brand concept.
